WFJ: Hurry is not the way I operate!

3 September 2009 2 Comments

You don’t have to try to rush ahead of Me, thinking that you have to hurry up or you’re not going to get where you want to be! Hurry is not the way I operate! I’m a slow-moving God, and I seldom ever act suddenly! Look at My creation; is there anything in it that moves suddenly? Most of My works are invisible to man’s eye, but they are evident and visible in their results! Look at a plant, a flower, or a tree; do you see it suddenly come out of the earth and flourish before your very eyes? No, but you do find it there when you come back to where it was sown, and the fruit is evident! Look at a sunset, or at all the other handiwork of My creation; it all moves at a slow pace, yet the results are visible to everyone and you can reap the benefits of it, slowly but surely!

That’s the way that I also want you to learn to operate! Not moving fast and in a hurry, forgetting to take the needed time to spend at My feet, but going through your daily routines in a methodic and scheduled way, such as doing the most important things first, and then moving on to the other less important things.

What are your priorities? Being one of My children, your number one duty is to follow My greatest commandment: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment” (Matthew 22:37)!

How do you do that? How do you love Me with “all” of your heart, and soul, and mind? By giving Me total attention! It’s not enough to just say a little prayer and immediately move on to other “important” things! If you want to love Me with “all” of your heart and soul and mind, you must not think of the other things to do! When you come into My presence, you must forget all the rest and tune in to Me, to the voice of My Spirit, which is speaking to your heart and guiding your life! You cannot give Me divided attention, and then say that you love Me with “all” of your heart and soul and mind! That would not be the truth, and you will not be able to fully benefit from your time with Me!

To fully benefit from your time with Me, you must give Me undivided and total attention, so that you can “enter into My rest” (Hebrews 4:11), and be filled with “the peace of God, which passes all understanding and which keeps your heart and mind” (Philippians 4:7) in Me! Then, once you have entered into My rest and you do have My peace in your heart and soul and mind, you know that you can move on to the next commandment: “The second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39)!

And what does that mean? Once your cup is filled with My love, then you can overflow unto others, and start with your neighbor, those that I put right next to you, those that I bring across your daily path! But you also must love them with undivided attention! If you are in a hurry, and you just pass them by without really paying attention to them, will they feel that you love them? That you truly care about them? That’s why I’m telling you that hurry is not the way I operate, and if you want to be an ambassador of My love to the world, then you must also not be in a hurry, but take the time to love them that I bring along your path daily!

Take the time! Time to live, and time to love! Life goes by very fast, if you move fast! But if you slow down and start to enjoy Me first of all, and then enjoy the people that I put next to you, you neighbor, you will see that life will take a wonderful new meaning for you, and you will really look forward to the day, and enjoy every aspect of it!

Take time to live! Hurry is not the way I operate!

Thank you for these beautiful words Renato. They hit home, because it is very easy to get in a hurry in the fast paced world. I will take them to heart and make this my motto each and everyday. May God continue to place these words into your mind and heart, so we can benefit from them. I love you my brother.

Hi Renato, Thank you for sharing these powerful words. A pattern of hurry can sneak up on us in very subtle ways. I know I’ve been guilty in the past few years of trying to help too many people myself before putting the oxygen mask on myself first. The #1 life lesson I have learned in the past 8 years is this – “To be spiritually healthy, you must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life!” Blessings, Randy
