WFJ: A famine in the land!

“Behold, the days come, said the Lord God, that there will be a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst…” (Amos 8: 11-13)

Isn’t that such a sad picture of the world today? Not only the young men and virgins, but virtually everyone, young and old, is fainting for thirst, because of a lack of living waters to quench their thirst! As the world has turned away from My word, there’s been a lack of the most important element of life: water! In this case, spiritual water, the water of life!

Just like the flowers that you have been watering would die of thirst, if you were to neglect them or forget to give them the daily water that they need, so it’s with the spirits of mankind, they are “fainting for thirst”! That is why many are having to drink their own tears instead!

“As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night…” (Psalm 42:1-3)

But I can hear their cries! I can feel their pain, and I’m “touched with the feeling of their infirmities” (Hebrews 4:15)! In fact, My Spirit is standing right next to each of My children, longing to “wipe away their tears” (Revelation 7:17) and to speak to them words of love and comfort, if they would only “incline their ears”!

“Ho, every one that thirsts, come to the waters, and he that has no money; come and eat; yes, come! Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? Listen diligently to Me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come to Me: hear, and your soul shall live!” (Isaiah 55:1-3)

What I told the thirsting woman at the well, who had been searching for love for all of her life, by changing husbands and jumping from one man to the next, like many women do today, and yet not being able to find it, I repeat to your readers today:

“If you knew the gift of God, you would ask of Me, and I would give you living water!” The woman said, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from where then have you that living water?” Jesus answered, “Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.” (John 4:10-14)

Where can you find that well of springing water, you ask? The answer is clear:

“If any man thirst, let him come to Me, and drink. He that believes on Me, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water!” (John 7:38)

You don’t have to “faint for thirst”! You can have “rivers of living water” to quench your thirst! All you have to do is: “Incline your ear, and come to Me: hear, and your soul shall live!” (Isaiah 55:3)

“I will pour out My spirit to you, I will make known My words to you”. (Proverbs 1:23)
