Reflection: Eternal value!

12 July 2009 One Comment

This morning I woke up alone at home, because this past week my wife travelled to London to assist our daughters who are both about to give birth to our first grandchildren, and, after thanking from my heart Him who was smiling at me and is much more than a friend to me, my first thought went to the FLOWERS! Yes, my wife’s flowers that are filling our garden with beautiful colors.

You can’t imagine how many times my wife recommended me, before she left, to not forget to water the flowers every night! Unfortunately, last night I came back home late and tired, after a day visiting friends dear to my heart, and guess what? I forgot to water the flowers! So this morning I got up early and went down into the garden to take care of the poor little plants that were thirsting for water after the heat of the previous day.

As I was doing that, I had this impression that they were smiling and thanking me from their hearts, just like I had just done with my Creator, and what an incredible sensation it was! It seemed as if they had been patiently waiting that I would remember them, and now they were showing me their gratitude with the wonderful perfume that they were emanating while I was giving them to drink!

I thought: “Man, these plants are alive! And they have huge value! That’s’ why my wife gives so much importance to each of them!” Then I continued to reflect and I thought of the value of my own life, how much attention the Lord gives me, and how He takes care of me! How important I am, as an individual, for Him, and how much value He gives to each one of us, each of His living creatures, individually.

The worth of a flower: “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow … even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these!” (Matthew 6:28,29)

The importance of a sparrow! “Not one of them is forgotten before God”! (Luke 12:6) “Behold the fowls of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them!” (Matthew 6:26) “Not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father.” (Matthew 10:29)

These thoughts led me to write the following message that God put in my heart during the morning, as He spoke to me saying …

“I take care of each one of My creatures, as if it was the only one in the world, because that creature is at center of My care and attention! And how much you think that you are worthy, who are created for eternity? How much is the value of your life? Think about it …

Even the hairs of your head are all numbered … for you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7) “If God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:30) “Fear not therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.“ (Matthew 10:31)

“I’m not wishing that any should perish” (2 Peter 3:9), but that all should reach the fulfillment of their eternal destiny! You have great value to Me, and I would have given My life for you, even if there was only you in this world! Think about it … and let Me take care of you and your needs!

When I speak, I’m speaking to you individually, because you are loved so much to be in the center of My attention. You are in the center of My attention in this very moment! You are the recipient in which I’m pouring My love, because you are “greatly beloved” (Daniel 10:19). This attention shows you that I love you, that I care for you, and that you are important to Me. That’s so for everyone of My children! I created each one of you, and each of you has an eternal value for Me! I came to save your individual worth, and give back to you the value that sin had taken away from you. I came to save and rescue your life and give it back its eternal value. (Matthew 18:11)

When I create a soul, it’s for eternity! I have a project for your life, an eternal plan! Life on earth is nothing but a passage that you must cross in order to reach the shores of eternity, and I want to help you reach the fulfillment of your destiny! Unfortunately sin has blinded the minds of My children, who have lost sight of their destiny and are tossed by earthly waves that are pulling them far from Me! For this purpose I came into the world, to rescue the value of your life! “I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly!” (John 10:10) That means that there is nothing that I would deny one of My children, because I want you to experience abundant life; not the abundance of material goods, “for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses” (Luca 12:15), but the abundance of spiritual goods that can fill and satisfy your soul and make your life worth living!

Think about it … every human soul, every small living creature, has eternal value for Me! You have great value for Me, and every day of your life has an eternal value!”

It’s true! Today is another day of my life, which is very important to me, just like it should be for all other human beings, and I hope that all of you, who are reading this, will not miss the opportunities that it offers us! Every day has a very precious value for each one of us, because it’s a chance to get close to Him who has created us and has given our lives an eternal value! We should not deprive ourselves of our value, thinking that we don’t have much worth, or that we have little worth, because we are eternal creatures, destined for eternity, and every day is an unique experience that has been granted us to make us more aware of our precious value in the eyes of our God!

[…] Are we so intense about our “temporal” things (our present financial situation, our monthly budget, our house, or whatever else it is that we are worried about), or are we setting our affection (our love and care) on the things that “abide forever”, trusting God to take care of us, like He does for “the lilies of the field” and “the fowls of the air” (Matthew 6:26,28)! (See our last Sunday’s reflection: “Eternal value”) […]
