Life is about relationships and how you interact with those around you! None of us is living alone on a desert island in the ocean of this world, but we are all surrounded by people who come and go all the time! There’s always someone who is passing by our life, even at this moment, wherever we are, whatever we are doing, and when we reach out to them, we plant seeds in their lives, whether good or bad, according to what has been stored inside of us and flowing out to them. What you are sharing with your loved ones and friends?
There are people nowadays who can have a look at your life and be impacted by it, even just through your FB wall and the comments that you’re leaving there! There’s no way out, what’s inside of you will somehow show up on the outside and impact those who stand in the realm of your life! You don’t have to say much for others to see what’s in you, even a little comment or picture will be sufficient. That’s why it’s so important what you are storing inside of you, as it will eventually overflow out into the world around you!
Jesus said: “Make the tree good, and his fruit is good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit is corrupt: the tree is known by his fruit. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things: an evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things. By your words you shall be justified, and by your words you also shall be condemned” (Mt. 12:33-38). Let me ask you, what treasure are you storing in your heart that you can share with the world?
It really depends on what you are feeding your soul with! If most of your daily spiritual input comes from the world around you, and you are in the habit of feeding your soul only once a week with “the residue of pastures”, “eating that which has been trodden, and drinking that which has been fouled with feet“ (Ez. 34:18,19), then what you are storing inside of you will have very little value. Whereas, if you “listen diligently to the Lord, eating that which is good, then your soul will delight itself in fatness” (Is. 55:2), “your cup will run over” (Ps. 23:5) and “out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water” (Jn. 7:38).
That’s the kind of treasures that we want to share with the world around us: rivers of living waters! That’s the reason that you must “keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Prov. 4:23). But first you need to hearken to God’s call: “Incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live” (Is. 55:3).
Are you able to recognize God’s voice when He calls you? We can all recognize the voice of those who are dear to us, whoever that is in your life, your mum, dad, child or spouse, or even a dear friend! When they call you on the phone and say: “Hey”, you don’t even have to ask “who is it?”, because you recognize their voice right away! You also pay attention to what they are about to tell you and want to hear what they called you for, because they are important to you! You know that they love you and you give great value to their words.
Jesus said: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (Jn. 10:27). “A stranger will they not follow, for they know not the voice of strangers” (Jn. 10:5). What about you? Are you able to recognize God’s voice, to “listen diligently to Him, and eat that which is good” (Is. 55.2)? If not, let me help you, by teaching you how “you can hear from God”!
