We have all come into our world “at such a time as this” and have found it the way it was handed over to us by those who have lived before us. Now we each have a choice: we can either live our life without a purpose, simply existing to enjoy the good and endure the bad that comes our way until we die, or we can decide to make the world a better place! The first choice will probably make our life insignificant and, in a few generations, it’s doubtful that anyone will remember that we even existed; the second choice will help us live our life with a purpose and fulfill our destiny!
We all have some kind of an impact on the world around us! The world, as we know it today, is the result of choices made by our ancestors, who handed it over to each new generation until we came along. Our children will inherit from us the world that we will hand over to them with the choices we make today! It all depends on you and me!
The question is: where do we start? History has taught us that, to make the world a better place, it’s not enough to just tackle the surface by changing its social or economical politics, but we must get at the root of the problem, which is in the heart of every human being!
The “heart” is defined as our inner being, where we process our thoughts and emotions and exercise our will, by making decisions that will decide the course of our life and have an impact on the world around us! What identifies these decisions as good or bad is the actual outcome, because “the tree is known by its fruit”.
Every choice is made in our heart, through the processing of our thoughts and emotions and the exercising of our free will, but it has a direct impact on our life and that of our loved ones (family, friends, or descendants), because “whatever a man sows, that shall he reap”!
Therefore, to change the world and make it better, it’s not enough to simply complain for the injustices and lacks we see all around; that’s only the surface! To uproot the weeds and plant the seeds of a better world, we must start in our heart, so that we are able to make better choices and build better lives for ourselves and our loved ones, and contribute to make a better world all around us. It’s a long process, but one that will bear long lasting fruits.
